After Saint Damien was canonized in Rome, his relic made it back to Hawaii. Damien’s canonization celebration lasted for almost a month. Many bishops from all over California traveled to Hawaii to pay homage to the patron saint of humanity. The picture shows me carrying the relic of Damien which was quite an honor. This happened a week after being in Rome for the canonization–I was on a spiritual high. Thank you to my Sacred Hearts community who from the beginning gave me the opportunity to experience such a jovial moment. This is the real-igious life.
