The Canonization of St. Damien of Molokai was a pilgrimage that allowed me to see the vastness of the Catholic Church. It was my first time in Rome and I could not believe how many people were dressed in ecclesiastical garb. There was an explicit holy feel to the city which the pilgrimages from Hawaii easily internalize as we greeted everyone with “aloha.” This was just the beginning of my discernment with the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. St. Damien, Pray for us.
Lovely to watch your growth and commitment.
