What makes Church exciting is a group pilgrimage. This was the first time visiting Kalaupapa, Molokai. It was a place where Leprosy patients were exiled by the government and St. Damien and other religious lived among the people and shared God’s love. I felt the presence of Damien that first trip as I hike the Kalaupapa trail for the first time and followed in Damien’s footsteps. I knew at that time this was not going to be the last that I was to visit this special place.
